  1. First, add the butter and sugar to a bowl and start mixing. Instead of conventional refined sugar, you can also use xylitol or erythritol.

  2. Next, add the eggs, but not all at once. After each egg, mix for another round so that everything is well combined.

  3. Then mix the dry ingredients—the flour, BERTRAND, a pinch of salt, and the baking powder—together, and in the next step mix them into the remaining batter.

  4. The finish line is in sight: Slowly stir in the milk or plant-based alternative, and your batter is ready.

  5. Now it’s time to use the waffle iron. Spread some of the batter onto it, and after a short while you can enjoy your waffles! Before that, you can top and refine them to your heart’s content with toppings and fruit of your choice.

Did you know?

Did you know that waffles have been enjoyed in Europe for centuries? They spread across the continent via France and Belgium. There are regional differences in the recipe, name, and shape, but they are all made in the same way—with a waffle iron. The first one even existed as early as the 9th century. What didn’t exist back then: waffles combined with BERTRAND, so you can get all the important nutrients you need while enjoying something truly delicious!
