Witches’ Trail on the Brocken

Last week, we took three days off and hiked the Hexenstieg near the Brocken in the Harz Mountains, Germany, for three days. The route starts in Osterode, passes over the Brocken and through the Bodetal, and finally ends in Thale after 97 km. The occasion was perfect for testing our new active variety and the BERTRAND Bottles.

Conclusion Hexenstieg:

An easy-to-hike route with some steep sections and a beautiful finish through the Bodetal, where dozens of fire salamanders await along the trail. Unfortunately, there were a few too many service roads and not enough real trails for our taste.

Conclusion BERTRAND active:

Very filling and supportive. Especially on the stages where your stomach and morale are flagging, it’s a real boost. The advantage is that no walking breaks are necessary—breaks that can be so difficult to get moving again from!
